Seafood awards for JC Mackintosh
Barcelona, April 26, 2022.- JC Mackintosh has won the special 'Seafood Excellence Global Convenience' award for its naturally smoked wild-caught bluefin tuna carpaccio at the 2022 edition of Seafood Expo Global, the largest European seafood trade event, which was held last week in Barcelona.
The winners have been selected from more than 1,000 products from around the world that have participated and have been announced at the special delivery of the Seafood Excellence Global Awards, which recognize the best products exhibited at Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global.
In this way, JC Mackintosh has won this award for its proposal of a carpaccio of wild-caught bluefin tuna smoked naturally in low combustion with oak, beech and barrels from La Rioja Alavesa, a high quality product unique in the market with appetizing aromas of smoked tuna and a pleasant and tender sensation in the mouth.
Its new line of smoked products within the JC Mackintosh catalog includes carpaccio of tuna belly, carpaccio of loin, whole piece of tuna belly and whole piece of loin. All of them are presented with an elegantly balanced packaging where their choice of colors and their iconic lexicon stand out.
It is a 100% Natural product, without preservatives, colorings or added flavors. The fish is naturally cold-smoked and cut into thin slices and is ready to eat with no preparation required. This product allows the consumer to enjoy a top quality smoked tuna dish in a simple way. Ready to eat and full of flavour, the carpaccios are cut into very thin slices, highlighting the product beautifully. In the case of ventresca, the fat of the meat balances perfectly with the smoky flavours.
However, last year this same line of carpaccios won the Superior Taste Award with three gold stars, awarded by the prestigious Brussels-based International Taste Institute, the leading organization dedicated to tasting and promoting superior-tasting food products, whose jury is made up of by the best chefs in the world.
The judges of the competition have been the retail business partner of Seafood and Frozen Food of Ahold Delhaize in Belgium, Debby Verheyen; the Seafood Purchasing manager of the La Sirena stores in Spain, Daniel Díaz; the Seafood director of Supermarché Match in France, Nicholas Baroux; the Fish and Seafood product manager of Chefs Culinar in Germany, Sebastian Kiel; and the head of Purchasing from Yo! Sushi in the UK, Paula Merrigan. For her part, Mrs. Verheyen chaired the jury.
The Seafood Excellence Global Awards 2022 finalists have been judged on the taste and overall eating experience, packaging, marketability, convenience, nutritional value and innovation of their products. Additionally, the judges' scores have been verified by Price Waterhouse Coopers.
